Crab Island Rum Distillery is the first handcrafted, small-batch rum maker on Vieques, Puerto Rico—a vibrant Caribbean island steeped in culture and maritime history.
Housed in a historic former pump station once used by the US Navy, the distillery blends heritage and innovation to produce premium rums that reflect the island’s unique spirit.
Founded in 2010 and officially opened to the public in 2019, the distillery is committed to authenticity from start to finish. Every bottle is made entirely on-site using locally sourced sugar-cane molasses, fresh island ingredients, and patient aging in oak barrels. Signature offerings like the Classic Añejo, 3-Year, 5-Year, Orange Infusion, and Coffee Infusion capture the flavors and character of Vieques in every sip.
Dedicated to sustainability and community, Crab Island Rum supports local farmers, practices resource conservation, and offers visitors an immersive experience through tastings, open-air gatherings, and live music. The result is more than a premium spirit—it’s a true expression of Puerto Rican craftsmanship, culture, and connection.

Rum Añejo
Crab Island Rum Añejo is a beautifully smooth, artisan-crafted expression born in Vieques island’s first handcrafted rum distillery.
Rum Tres Años
Bold and mature, Crab Island Rum Añejo Tres Años is aged for a full three years in oak barrels on Vieques’s only artisan distillery.
Rum Cinco Años
Meticulously aged for five years in oak barrels, this expression is crafted as a heartfelt tribute to the community and family behind its creation,
Orange Infusion
Infused over a patient 10-month process with locally grown “chinas” (PR oranges), this expression captures the true essence of island citrus.
Coffee Infusion
This exquisite blend marries locally sourced Puerto Rican coffee beans with artisan-distilled rum, capturing the island’s essence in every sip.
