Bold and mature, Crab Island Rum Añejo Tres Años is aged for a full three years in oak barrels at Vieques’s only artisan distillery. This extended maturation yields a beautifully sophisticated expression that showcases the island’s rich rum-making heritage.
Our 3-year-old Crab Island Rum is a mature rum with accentuated notes from the barrel. We began barreling this aged rum in 2022.
By stirring it in a glass cup, you can see how the sugars in the wood take longer to settle to the bottom due to the time it was exposed to the changes in the barrel. The aroma is balanced and is consistent with the effect on the palate. Its dry notes are similar to vanilla and anise.
