Find us Monday through Friday, steps from the Caribbean Sea, on the road into Esperanza.

    All the rum is unique and Smooth! The coffee and orange infused were top notch. The 3 & 5 year is the smoothest I’ve tasted. Ivan gave us a great explanation of how his rum is made and how he got started. Gift shop had it all for sale. Great hospitality, good bar food and best drinks on the island so far!

  • This is what you want for a Caribbean Island Distillery! You'll be surrounded by luscious tropical trees, plants, wild horses, chickens, distillery equipment, and great drinks. The bartenders will work with you on any drink and the rum tasting really proves that this distillery knows how to do it right. You get that classic Caribbean island vibe every where you walk. This will definitely be a mainstay for us each time we go to Vieques.

    I loved this place Live music on Saturday Upon walking in we stopped at the Gift shop the lady that helped us was very kind and recommended us great things. Bartenders specially Joseph were very friendly and service was excellent! I highly recommend this spot. Definitely will be back on our next trip here. Ambiance was nice music was great too.

    Worth a visit if you rent a car on the island. I enjoyed the live music on Saturday night and fresh drinks. Even bought some rum to bring back home.

  • Crab Island is top notch- great vibes, tasty drinks and easy service. The location in a pasture among palm trees is stunning, and everyone even the staff seemed to be happy and having a good time. During our visit a live steel drum band was playing adding more to the joyful environment. Drinks were a bit more expensive than most places but seems to be worth it for the higher quality. We did not try the food but hope to next time! The only downside was they are not open on Sundays/Monday the other days we were in town.

    No visit to Vieques is complete until one visits the Crab Island Rum Distillery. Be sure to take your photo with the land crab sculpture. And if you start to see the crab move, we suggest you stop drinking and hand the car keys to someone else.

    Where to start! It was an amazing experience, from the hospitality to the cocktails! We had planned to visit and our good friend Glo accompanied us. I did the 4 shot sampler, then we sat at the bar where our bartender Alfonso fixed us up some drinks. I tried their piña colada, pain killer, and Crab Island Punch, all three were excellent. We also ordered a food sampler and I was very honored to have gotten a picture taken with the founder Ivan 🙏🏽 After our drinks we purchased some rum and my wife got herself and Glo some earrings. We were gifted some stickers and neck keychains as well. We definitely will be returning on our next visit. If you’re in Vieques visiting the Crab Island Rum Distillery is a must!! They also offer tours of the distillery, don’t miss out!

    Tips on ordering and contacting the venue. First, what a beautiful experience with friendly bartenders and delicious rum. I thought it would be interesting to take a tour and was wondering why tours were not offered, until I arrived and saw that it is a boutique operation. Quite small, and a tour would take about five minutes. Instead, we were treated to local live music; we purchased two rum tastings, and then we ordered some exquisite cocktails. Keep in mind it was a Saturday, and their hours are later on a Saturday, as they stay open until 8 PM. The vibe is local and friendly and again, boutique. We did not try the food truck, though I am reading reviews here that it is excellent. The food truck seems to have a porch and patio, so it looks like more of a permanent installation. I had been trying to email the venue with no success and ask for a tour, because it was really hard to tell from the website if tours were offered. Though it appeared as if they were not. I finally called them and somebody answered the phone right away. Tips on cocktail ordering: try some of the drinks you cannot find anywhere else. My husband ordered a Mojito, and it was OK, but you can get a Mojito anywhere else. Not a great order. My daughter ordered the chupi, and it was excellent. So creative with the rosemary syrup. Really well balanced, and a beautiful drink. If you’re looking at the photos, it’s the one with the pink swirl. I ordered the ginger parcha, and it was one of the most refreshing and interesting cocktails I have ever tasted. And we live in a town known for their craft cocktails. The ginger and the lime balanced beautifully with the passionfruit. I ordered a second one, because it was just too delicious not too! If you are looking at the photos, it is the one that is orange. As far as the rums, we took home a bottle of crab orange and a bottle of crab coffee. Both of these rums were delicious on their own, and would be excellent over ice. We bought a big bottle of each and are excited to share them with our friends on the mainland (or maybe not. Maybe we will keep them all to ourselves! It will clearly depend on how well our friends are behaving!)

    The best drink in town with the best Made in Vieques Rum. What a great distillery. And the staff is amazing. Come visit the distillery, grab a different Rum Flavor and say hello to Ivan, the owner. On the weekends they have great live music and La Tabla food serving delicious Pastelillos, tacos and crab sandwich It is an amazing way to enjoy Vieques😎

    Yummy passion fruit mojitos! HH $7 each Open air bar concept with a kiosk next door to order food. Owner was very nice and fun to talk to! A woman sells beautiful homemade jewelry and dried flowers/herbs( for teas/cooking). A must do!

    My family and I was just there and took a trip to the distillery. The people at the bar were amazing and definitely brought a great vibe to the experience!! I purchased a couple bottles of rum and got home and tried it and now I was wondering how can I get some more?? I was gonna buy online but didn’t see a way to do that. If you could help me out I would greatly appreciate it and again we had a wonderful experience. Staff was top notch

    We visited Saturday April 6th. They had local musicians playing, and great food. They have a full bar. There are horses grazing in the fields around the distillery. If you can, go on a Saturday 4 to 8 pm I highly recommend. I believe they have local musicians most Saturdays.
